Bark Woodshop

Mike McGuire makes his exquisite end-grain butcher blocks and charcuterie boards by hand in his shop right here in PEC.

Mike was inspired to work with wood at a young age by his Great Uncle, a master carpenter. As a child, he would watch him work in his shop whenever he could. Mike was fascinated with the beautiful things that his Great Uncle could make with his own hands. That curiosity and inspiration continues to stay with Mike to this day.

From Mike:

“What I love most about wood working is the satisfaction that comes from taking an idea of something to make and then transforming rough pieces of wood into that idea, into something beautiful.  Also, even though your woodworking skills and knowledge continually improve over time, you never stop learning.  Each project presents a new challenge that often tests your skills and capabilities.”
